I was reading today about Iraqi Marshes and didn't even know they existed.. I didn't know much about Socotra or even Afghanistan or Syria .. we're often used to seeing the images projected by the media.. obviously hooligan Muslims in primitive like societies .. so I was thinking everyone would post pictures of their home country, their ancestral country of the things that wouldn't be readily known to people.. i.e if you are from Egypt post something other than the pyramids to showcase its beauty and architectural facets and areas of interest for those who have never seen it.. Also if you've just visited a place, say you're from the U.A.E and visited Oman then I'd appreciate that as well.. Jazakoum Allah khyran..
here are some of the Iraqi Marsh lands I saw today:
"Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).".."[Al Qur'aan 3:2]
here, since i still hate this image uploading option on IB, i am posting links to direct pics. If mod wishes, they can post those pics here for display.
all of these pics are from pakistan. I think Atif Saeed is arguably the best landscape Pakistani photographer I've come across. I and Tilmeez are soon going on an adventurous trip to these places, iA, as he promised.
and this is my personal favorite, seems right out of Lord of the Rings, nay even better than that, a pathan with his steed witnessing the meadows and the tall peaks http://www.flickr.com/photos/atifsae...in/photostream

Help me to escape from this existence
I yearn for an answer... can you help me?
I'm drowning in a sea of abused visions and shattered dreams
In somnolent illusion... I'm paralyzed
sydney is just like my hometown (Hazara Pakistan), only it have beaches but the natural hilly beauty of Pakistan is not here.

talmeez n u goin to these areas...amazing..by the way if u rinterested, i will introdue u to my bro. he love hiking n visiting these places. above pic r taken by himself.
I wish that too. I've been to Murree when i was in grade 9 ... but with parents, who are not into adventure that much, we did not unfortunately get to see much. Plus I was not a nature mystic back then (who is in grade 9!) . I have this urge to revisit for whole 6 months and buy a small tent somewhere in Himalayas and practice medicine there. yea, I know, too idealistic. American drones would probably bomb the crap out of my lil medical clinic.

Allah swt has blessed these Persians with too much, almost on par with Jews, intellect as well as natural landscapes. Just look at Islamic history and you'll see the names of Persian scholars. There is no top residency program in the country where I dont see at least 2 Persians.
