I was reading today about Iraqi Marshes and didn't even know they existed.. I didn't know much about Socotra or even Afghanistan or Syria .. we're often used to seeing the images projected by the media.. obviously hooligan Muslims in primitive like societies .. so I was thinking everyone would post pictures of their home country, their ancestral country of the things that wouldn't be readily known to people.. i.e if you are from Egypt post something other than the pyramids to showcase its beauty and architectural facets and areas of interest for those who have never seen it.. Also if you've just visited a place, say you're from the U.A.E and visited Oman then I'd appreciate that as well.. Jazakoum Allah khyran..
here are some of the Iraqi Marsh lands I saw today:
This is Al husain Mosque and that's where he's buried ...at least part of him draws many shiites and I wasn't happy visiting it last summer.. I found the mosque in the citadel gorgeous and there was a wedding there that day I'll try to upload a pic insha'Allah

I assure you most of it doesn't. Some of it does, as brothers and sisters have shown here, but most Pakistanis will never have seen a beach, nor the beautiful mountains and lakes we see here. All the pictures here are completely alien to me, and not what I've ever seen.
In the small town I'm from, there are narrow cobbled streets where you have to press yourself flat against a wall if someone wants to go past on a motor bike. Each side of the street (more like alleyways) there are channels with open sewage flowing along, and you have to hold a cloth in front of your nose for most of your way. The main streets from which you can approach by car are wider, but when it rains, you end up trudging through mud/sludge with litter mixed in.
Unfortunately I haven't been for a while and don't know if/when I'll ever go, so have no pics to show what I mean.
But it's nice to know that there are nice parts of Pakistan too.
with all due respect, you have to then blame yourself for not exploring.
I live in Canada, and still have not seen prairies or the rockies. I should only blame myself for not exploring them, rather than saying well most of Canada is not rockies or prairies anyways.
I understand the litter part. Well even in well developed Canada we have to deal with salty snow sludge that ruins my pants and shoes while going to work.
Those narrow alleys remind me of UK, well i guess we still have colonial UK architectures amongst ourselves.

I've always wanted to visit Kabul in Afghanistan and Egypt, and of course Makkah and Madinah...
Kabul:
Egpyt - Cairo
Conclusion; Dunya is beautiful, no matter where in the world you are, the natural parts are always such nice peaceful scenes to see..imagine if this is how beautiful dunya is, then jannah is beyond our imaginations..
as they say 'Jannah is where your imagination ends'..

Beautiful Thread with beautiful pictures. 21 years of war has really devastated Somalia, but I guess the Indian Ocean is always there to give a serene appearance to one of the most violent place on earth. Insha"Allah one day I need to get a house by the beach.
I was looking at myself talking to myself and I realized this conversation...I was having with myself looking at myself was a conversation with myself that I needed to have with myself.
I have to say, I would never want to go back to Pakistan. It stinks and went to an area similar to the picture above.
^ Wherever I go in Britain, I always see construction work. It's depressing and spoils the scenery.
Don't kill the beauty of the thread brother. You will find places like that in most developing countries that have over-crowded cities. I have been to Pakistan as well, but I took a train from Islamabad to Karachi, and then from Karachi to Islamabad again. It gives you a better picture of the whole country.
P.S. I'm surprised no one has posted Sha-Faisal Masjib. I was like 9 when I first saw this masjid.

The first is the Arch. It is in St. Louis, Missouri, near where I live. They call it the Gateway to the West. The second is a extended walkway over the Grand Canyon. The walkway is see-through so you can see below you. Everyone might have already seen these. I sure am enjoying the pictures everyone is showing. I never realized the beauty in some of these places. The media does not show that part. I want to thank everyone for sharing.

my roommates room and washroom stinks as crap. I guess I should never visit Canada.

beautiful. I've been to St Louis, I found it rather nice compared to Philadelphia. Did not explore much other than visiting Wash U in St Louis and SLU for academic reasons. People were quite friendly. Ignoring the fact that Wash U was Jewish hub.

I have been here 8 years, and have never been to the Arch. The nearest I have been, was when I went to Busch Stadium to watch the Cardinals baseball team play. And I was just a block or two from the Arch. And I have no desire to go up in it, but I really want to go to it, but stay on the ground. lol. Everyone talks about SLU here alot, because it is suppose to be a good place to go. I did not know that Wash U was Jewish. I do not that we have a hospital in St. Louis that is called....Barnes Jewish.
I'm not sure if it is possible to kill beauty. I'm trying to add some contrast.

You'll find that everywhere. Some streets of Britain are disgusting.

I have been to Islamabad. Never really liked it. Then again, I never really liked visiting Pakistan. I just liked riding the horses there and meeting the people.

You should lock yourself up then, for your own good....and for the good of others.
