Ok I know alcohol is haraam but what about cooking with alcohol? The Qur'an forbids alcohol because it's an intoxicant, but when cooking with wine the alcohol cooks out. So, since the alcohol cooks out would it still be haraam?

still haram my good friend and brother :). this is a unanimously agreed upon.

think of it this way, would you drink out of a theoretical 1000000 litre bottle of of water if 0.00001g of faeces was inside?

Greetings.

Generally, it's a myth that the alcohol cooks out. In most cases there is between 4-85% alcohol left in the cooked dish:

http://www.todayifoundout.com/index...doesnt-really-cook-out-of-food-in-most-cases/

http://islamqa.info/en/ref/1814/cooking with alcohol

Even if you do happen to cook your dish completely dry so there's no liquid left, there could still be residues in the food itself. And, even if there weren't, it's still not allowed. We're not allowed to have any involvement with alcohol at all. That includes buying it:

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who conveys it, and the one to whom it is conveyed.

(Reference: Sunan Abi Dawud 3674, In-book reference: Book 27, Hadith 6, English translation: Book 26, Hadith 3666)

Peace.
