That sounds like another book I have to check out.

Also:

If there are any Star Wars fans who also read the books, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor is loads of fun.

i need to get more books from the library :ermm:

I love The Kite Runner, and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hussaini.

i've had the second book on hold for so long now, some one is just taking their time reading it :mmokay:

I loved To Kill a Mockingbird last year. :D
And a zilion other books that I've read lol. I can't really name them.
Yeahh..
:erm:

I'm reading The Boy in The Striped pyjamas. It's pretty good so far. I like the way it's written. It makes you smile at a 9 yr old's innocence

...I really need to write my book so people may mention it on this thread (probably under 'hate'), and possibly to get a bounty/fatwa on my head.

Which would greatly aid sales.

Ooh, I didn't know that was a book! I saw the trailer of its movie a while ago, thought it looked interesting, was planning on seeing it.. But if there's a book I definitely have to read it first inshaAllah.

Has anyone read Echoes? by Jamila Kolocotronis? I borrowed it from my sister and finished it in 4 hours, it was really great! Except i wish the mom did more talking she only had a chance in the beggining and then in the end, Joshua did almost all of the narrating

I'm thinking about ordering the rest of the series

So has anyone read it?
Whats it about?

It has some really good moments and great imagery.

I thought it went on for too long though

Yes, it was long - 600 pages.
I felt that it did go on quite a bit, but only to extend her information about the setting, the myth, the places, the culture and languages of those places. I really enjoyed all those tiny details about the monks and historical letters. It got me interested in Balkan culture.

Yeah like I said, the imagery was great with the Gothic-like setting. She captured it well.
