They can be sending me marmite treats then lol

You like marmite? It is an acquired taste. I didn't like it, but I do like Supermalt lol

Not for everyone. My grandpa got me used to it when I was only 7, said it will make me strong. :)

I like vegamite the best by itself but marmite is good in stuff for me. I have to see if I can find supermalt in the states to try.

From what I've heard off relatives in Pakistan, the load shedding is *really* bad there as well. I thought it was just happening in Pakistan.

Whenever I speak to my aunt there, she says in summer there's no AC, in winter there's no gas for heating, and she gets up at 1am to make lunch.

And then she says 'So, when are you coming to visit anyway'. And after hearing all that all I say is 'Why don't you come?' lol.

I am from Europe. my parents came from Nearby Turkey. In the past known as Jugoslavia, around there..........

Must be hard to live without AC or gas for heating. Can't imagine how making lunch would be like. my parents always say I am blessed, which I am obviously. Because back in the day, they rarely had anything to eat.

Eating meat was a luxury. they barely had any bread. And they ate from one dish, 1-2 eggs max. I think..

Allahu alam.

Wa alaykum assalam,

My family are from Afghanistan and Kashmir, they've since moved to either Pakistan or here in the UK.

I do sometimes think that if I was living where family had lived, in what are now war-torn and unsettled countries, how my life would be subhanAllah. Alhamdulillah I was able to live in a country which could provide me with the childhood so many children are being deprived of right now.

And yeah, it's hard in countries with load shedding, like Pakistan or South Africa. Our whole lifestyle is based on electricity and gas now - whenever we have a power cut for an hour or so it's like a disaster, lol.
