Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal in his Musnad has mentioned a Hadith (no. 21257) that Allah sent 124, 000 Prophets (Anbiya’) and from among them 315 were the Messengers (rusul).

Der wer loadz of Messengers (315) lyk i said b4.. I don't think all of em r mentioned in da Qur'an and Sunnah, but i fink the scholars say dat the difference between a Messenger n a Prophet iz that the Messenger brings a new law to the peeple, but the prophets mite jus carry on wit da law of anotha prophet, but they come 2 strengthen da faith again.

4 example we know dat Musa (Moses) peace be upon him, waz a messenger, buh hiz brother Harun (Aaron) was a prophet. (peace be upon him.)


A messenger can be a prophet, but a prophet izn't necessarily a messenger.

Afta Muhammad (peace be upon him) theres neva gna be no mo prophets or messengers, and it's gna stay that way till da day of judgement.
