I know brother i feel i am overloaded sometimes - but honestly brother - whatever else i do - doesnt bring me as much joy and peace of heart and mind than reading and learning about Allah and Islam - im sure ill settle down a bit eventually but for now it helps me stay on the right path and lessens the chances of me doing something wrong .
Im still having problems learning the sitting position in pray though - and its fustrating cause i cant pray -
any tips?[/QUOTE]
Asalaamu Alaykum Sister,
you mentioned library. do they have an information desk there? you should be able to the number for a local Masaajid, or an address.
go around prayer time, Asr or Maghrib. if you're shy, or don't have a hijab, just "stake the place out". find out what entrance the women use. when prayers over, find a friendly face on the way out and stop her and ask her for help.
DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT attempt to enter a masjid uncovered! totally well meaning and pious sisters have been known to have "knee-jerk reaction" to the sight of an uncovered woman entering. they go ballistic! they don't really mean it :embarrass and it's over before the realize what they do...(happens at our masjid, ALOT:muddlehea )
on weekends, younger sisters who are out of school tend to spend a little extra time there if they can. sisters want to earn reward, so they'll help if they can.
besides, you need to meet some "live" Muslims!
if you're not up to that, just find a Halaal food store, look for a sister!
you need to feel comfy and at ease praying. (me, i can't face my right toes towards the qiblah when sitting, but like half the fbrothers don't either. so i ain't sweating it yet!)
Good luck! May Allah (SWT) make it easy for you, and may He reward you every step of the way.
