^^ Go the the site. Paste in the video's link and press OK or whatever button they got there. Then you'll see 3 options. One for FLV, one for AVI and one for MP4. Right click and save whichever one you want. The most universal out of the 3 is the AVI file format. :)

it works great for google videos but for some reason, it doesn't work for youtube. any ideas?

Really. It does work for Youtube though. The only difference is that with Youtube, you only get the option of downloading the FLV file.

What's the problem with Youtube snakelegs :? I wanna get to the bottom of this...

maybe it is only the ones i tried that didn't work. (i'm new to this) - they look like they're working, but when you try to play them, the icon is just a square with dots and they want to open in adobe acrobat, but adobe tells you that it can't open them, that they have either become corrupt or something else, i forget.
no problem at all with the google ones.

Oh you mean playback problems? The file is downloaded but you can't play it correctly :?

Yeah, that happens with Word files too sometimes. Try right clicking and manually choosing a program to open the file, such as Media Player or Quicktime.

You could click on the download tab at the side of ur video. Also make sure u change Windows/MAC to Video IPOD/PSP

The format will be in mp4 though and the quality remains the same

alphadude - i was being stupid! i just got DSL and i am all excited. :-[ :-[
can you save one of your own dvd's this way, while it's playing - like you can save audio from a dvd by using the audacity program?
this VLC is really nice - never heard of it before. will have to read about it.

apologies - i have another problem. today i can't download anthing on keepvid. i can get the site but when i click on something to download, under the download miniscreen i get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
does anyone know if there is any other site where you can save videos from google, etc.?
thanks and i apologise for being a nuisance.
after 9 years of dial-up i am really having a great time with DSL. it's a whole new world!
