These are: When he is entrusted with something, he betrays trust; when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he acts treacherously; and when he argues, he behaves in a very imprudent, insulting manner.”

Abu Hurairah RA said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “People are like ores. Those who were excellent in the Days of Ignorance are excellent in Islam provided they acquire the knowledge and understanding of the religion. You will find the best people in it (Islam) those who had a deep hatred (for leadership). You will find the worst among the people a double-faced person who appears to some people with one face and to others with another face.”

17th Safar 1436 (9th December 2014)
Narrated Abu Dhar (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His
Apostle know better."
He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates
itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it
is permitted.
A time will come when it will be about to prostrate itself
but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go
on its course but it will not be permitted, and it will be ordered to
return from where it has come and so it will rise in the west.
And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: "And the sun runs its fixed
course For a term (decreed). That is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in
Might, The All-Knowing." (36.38)
Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As RA reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “A (true) Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe; and a Muhajir (Emigrant) is he who leaves the deeds which Allah has prohibited.”

I don't think we've conquered the tongue - we can easily fall into the traps of shaytaan by lying, speculating, back-biting, swearing etc.
Peace and quite does you wonders. There's a saying which advises we have 2 ears and one tongue for a reason i.e. listen more and speak less.
Pain and hardships allow you to grow spiritually Alhamdulilah so smile when a so called calamity befalls upon you.
Alhamdulilah Allah swt is the greatest.
Anas bin Malik RA said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Do not desert (stop talking to) one another, do not nurse hatred towards one another, do not be jealous of one another, and become as fellow brothers and slaves of Allah. It is not lawful for a Muslim to stop talking to his brother (Muslim) for more than three days.”
