    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Narrated `Abdullah (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best people are those of my generation, and then those who will come after them (the next generation), and then those who will come after them (i.e. the next generation), and then after them, there will come, people, whose witness will precede their oaths, and whose oaths will precede their witness."

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Narrated Abu Bakr (RA): Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Bakr (RA) said that he told his father: O my father! I hear you supplicating every morning: "O Allah! Grant me health in my body. O Allah! Grant me good hearing. O, Allah! Grant me good eyesight. There is no god but Thou." You repeat them three times in the morning and three times in the evening. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) using these words as a supplication and I like to follow his practice.

Narrated Aisha (RA): I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I have two neighbours and would like to know to which of them I should give presents." He replied, "To the one whose door is nearer to you."

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

A’ishah (RA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “When a woman gives some of the foodstuff (which she has in her house) in charity without being extravagant (without being wasteful), she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband will receive the reward because of his earning, and the keeper (if any) will be similarly rewarded. The reward of one will not decrease the reward of the others.” Agreed upon.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

Narrated Ibn `Abbas (RA): When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Madinah, he found (the Jews) fasting on the day of 'Ashura' (i.e. 10th of Muharram). They used to say: "This is a great day on which Allah saved Moses and drowned the folk of Pharaoh. Moses observed the fast on this day, as a sign of gratitude to Allah." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "I am closer to Moses than they." So, he observed the fast (on that day) and ordered the Muslims to fast on it.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: Verily the Great and Mighty Allah forgave my people the evil promptings arising in their minds, but they neither talked about them nor acted upon them.

Yahya (RA) related to me from Malik (RA) that he heard that Luqman al-Hakim made his will and counselled his son, saying, "My son! Sit with the learned men and keep close to them. Allah gives life to the hearts with the light of wisdom as Allah gives life to the dead earth with the abundant rain of the sky."

It was narrated from Anas (RA) that Fatimah (RA) wept for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he died. She said: "O my father, how close he is now to his Lord! O my father, we announce the news (of his death) to Jibril (AS)! O my father, Jannat Al-Firdaus is now his abode!"

Abū Sa'id (RA) reported the Prophet (ﷺ) as saying, “If anyone recites sūra al-Kahf (Qur’ān, 18) on Friday, the light will shine brightly for him till the next Friday.”
