Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:
I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--
(1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),
(2) to follow funeral processions,
(3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),
(4) to return greetings,
(5) to help the oppressed,
(6) to accept invitations,
(7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

11th Ramadan 1434 (20th July 2013)
Narrated 'Abdullah (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) fasted for days continuously;
the people also did the same but it was difficult for them. So, the Prophet
(Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) forbade them (to fast continuously for more
than one day).
They said, "But you fast without break (no food was taken in
the evening or in the morning)." The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam)
replied, "I am not like you, for I am provided with food and drink (by
Allah)."

It was asked: "How long was the gap between the two?” He replied: "The time required for the recitation of fifty Ayat.”

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) used to kiss and embrace (his

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up.
1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays.
2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous.
4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner."

6th Ramadan 1434 (15th July 2013)
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.)"
Surah Al-Baqarah V. 183
Oh You who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you so that you may become righteous. (Surah 2, V. 183)
Ramadan is the month of fasting. The month where we put aside worldly desires, pleasures and requirements to nourish and nurture our souls....to gain “taqwa” or awareness of Allah.
As we begin this month, let us remember that this is the goal of our fasting: Taqwa (Righteousness ).
Allah we ask of you mercy in the Month of Mercy, Taqwa in the Month of Taqwa, and nearness to You for our lifetimes.
Ameen.
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day"
Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) used to break his Saum (fasting) before performing Maghrib prayer with three fresh date-fruits; if there were no fresh date-fruits, he will eat three dry dates; and if there were no dry date-fruits; he would take three draughts of water.

14th Ramadan 1434 (23rd July 2013)
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "If somebody eats or
drinks forgetfully then he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten
or drunk, has been given to him by Allah." Narrated 'Amir bin Rabi'a, "I
saw the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) cleaning his teeth with
Siwak while he was fasting so many times as I can't count." And narrated
Abu Huraira, "The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, 'But for my
fear that it would be hard for my followers, I would have ordered them to
clean their teeth with Siwak on every performance of ablution." The same is
narrated by Jabir and Zaid bin Khalid from the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi
Wa Sallam) who did not differentiate between a fasting and a nonfasting
person in this respect (using Siwak).
Aisha (Radi-Allahu 'anha) said, "The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa
Sallam) said, "It (i.e. Siwak) is a purification for the mouth and it is a
way of seeking Allah's pleasures." Ata' and Qatada said, "There is no harm
in swallowing the resultant saliva."

15th Ramadan 1434 (24th July 2013)
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
While we were sitting with the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) a man
came and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have been ruined." Allah's Apostle
(Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked what was the matter with him. He
replied "I had sexual intercourse with my wife while I was fasting."
Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked him, "Can you afford
to manumit a slave?" He replied in the negative.
Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked him, "Can you fast for two successive
months?" He replied in the negative. The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa
Sallam) asked him, "Can you afford to feed sixty poor persons?" He replied
in the negative. The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) kept silent and
while we were in that state, a big basket full of dates was brought to the
Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam). He asked, "Where is the
questioner?" He replied, "I (am here)." The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa
Sallam) said (to him), "Take this (basket of dates) and give it in
charity."
The man said, "Should I give it to a person poorer than I? By
Allah; there is no family between its (i.e. Medina's) two mountains who are
poorer than I."
The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) smiled till his
pre-molar teeth became visible and then said, 'Feed your family with it."

Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) came out during the night and observed (TARAWEEH) prayer in the mosque and some of the people prayed along with him. When it was morning the people talked about this and so a large number of people gathered there. The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) went out for the second night, and they (the people) prayed along with him. When it was morning the people began to talk about it. So the mosque thronged with people on the third night. He (the Holy Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) ) came out and they prayed along with him. When it was the fourth night, the mosque was filled to its utmost capacity but the Messenger of Allah[SAWW](PBUH) did not come out. Some persons among then cried:" Prayer." But the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) did not come to them till he came out for the morning prayer. When he had completed the morning prayer, he turned his face to the people and recited Tashahhud (I bear testimony that there is no god but Allah and I bear testimony that Muhammad is His Messenger) and then said: Your affair was not hidden from me in the night, but I was afraid that (my observing prayer continuously) might make the night (TARAWEEH) prayer obligatory for you and you might be unable to perform it.

Narrated Tawus (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
Ibn 'Abbas said, "Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) set out
from Medina to Makkah and he fasted till he reached 'Usfan, where he asked
for water and raised his hand to let the people see him, and then broke the
fast, and did not fast after that till he reached Makkah, and that happened
in Ramadan." Ibn 'Abbas used to say, "Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi
Wa Sallam) (sometimes) fasted and (sometimes) did not fast during the
journeys so whoever wished to fast could fast, and whoever wished not to
fast, could do so."

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "He who spends a pair in the way of Allah will be called from the gates of Jannah: `O slave of Allah! This gate is better for you’ and one who is constant in Salat (prayer), will be called from the Gate of Salat; and whoever is eager in fighting in the Cause of Allah, will be called from the Gate of Jihad; and who is regular in observing Saum will be called from Ar-Raiyan Gate. The one who is generous in charity will be called from the Gate of Charity.” Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH)! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you! Those who are called from these gates will stand in need of nothing. Will anybody be called from all of those gates?” He replied, "Yes, and I hope that you will be one of them.”

A man came to the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) and said, "O
Allah's Apostle! My mother died and she ought to have fasted one month (for
her missed Ramadan). Shall I fast on her behalf?" The Prophet (Sallallahu

more right to be paid." In another narration a woman is reported to have
said, "My sister died..."

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) made a bond of brotherhood
between Salman and Abu Ad-Darda.'
Salman paid a visit to Abu Ad-Darda' and
found Um Ad-Darda' dressed in shabby clothes and asked her why she was in
that state. She replied, "Your brother Abu Ad-Darda' is not interested in
(the luxuries of) this world."
In the meantime Abu Ad-Darda' came and
prepared a meal for Salman. Salman requested Abu Ad-Darda' to eat (with
him), but Abu Ad-Darda' said, "I am fasting." Salman said, "I am not going
to eat unless you eat." So, Abu Ad-Darda' ate(with Salman).
When it was
night and (a part of the night passed), Abu Ad-Darda' got up (to offer the
night prayer), but Salman told him to sleep and Abu Ad-Darda' slept. After
sometime Abu Ad-Darda' again got up but Salman told him to sleep. When it
was the last hours of the night, Salman told him to get up then, and both
of them offered the prayer.
Salman told Abu Ad-Darda', "Your Lord has a
right on you, your soul has a right on you, and your family has a right on
you; so you should give the rights of all those who has a right on you."
Abu Ad-Darda' came to the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) and
narrated the whole story. The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said,
"Salman has spoken the truth."
