So let's take this thread to share our awkward moments...
So here's one I had just last week or so. We had guest sleeping over at our house. And I was walking down the hallway when the Uncle asked what time I come back from work. I found that odd, since I don't have a job, but anyway, I said "I come back from school at 11". I mean, he asked the question while looking at me. And after I answered, he continued to stare at me and then my dad said he was talking to him, not me.... It was embarrassing and awkward.
Another one is sort of sad. We went to Boston, to visit my uncle, who unfortunately is cross eyed. So my brother and I were standing there, and he asked one of us how old we were. He was looking at me, but it seemed like his eyes were pointing towards my brother. So during the process of the conversation, my brother had to nudge me as to when he was asking me, and when he was asking him.
When I was in second grade, I wasn't usually focused during biology lessons so once..
The teacher asked me in class "from where do we get light" and I answered "the lamp" :S. Obviously she meant the Sun. :S
^ haha and milk comes from the supermarket ....the most awkward moment in school must be when you call your teacher MOM :P......
To my Akh's tryin to stay on their deen
It gets mean especially when u stay on the scene
And at the same try to stay out of trouble
But don't forget the blessing's in the struggle...
You gotta stay on your salats, your zakats, your Quran
My language skill not being the best, at times I hear what people say to each other and my memory automatically learns it. I had heard many times a people greeting the other by using a word, let's call it "X". I didn't know the meaning and assumed it's just a greeting word like "Hi".
One day I visited my brother's restaurant and there was a worker there. In order not to seem impolite, I went inside to greet him and said the word "X".. And the man started to turn around himself and look around with a "Where are we?" face expression. He didn't answer back anything (was awkward at the time). My mom was just holding her laugher in and I heard what I had said when she was telling a lady about it.
X=Welcome
Ironically, the visitor/customer welcomed the worker.

Reason: Deleted one word.
I remember once in Saudi my mom wanted oranges n my dad went out to buy it. He asked the guy could he take one out of the sack, cut and taste it first uncase it was sour or dry. He blatantly refused even after my dad offered to pay for opening the sack n tasting one. In the end he grumpily budged and gave my dad one, it was sour n my dad said to me, 'this orange is just as sour as this guy' and my dad didn't know he cud speak english. OMG he was angry and he said it comes from your country 'south africa!!!!!!!'
I think this is our main problem rite, all of us that speaks english likes to talk about others that can't.!!! I did it toooooo many times...

Well i have an awkward moment, when you know someone and they say "Wa alaaykum Salam" to greet you
Well i had one when i used to climb up stairs in my school days, when you get to the final step at the top, your thinking theres another step to climb and then you take another step and hit your feet real hard on the ground, and thats awkward and painful.
Or when your at a shop or somewhere where there are other people and you "think" your talking to your dear mother, and she goes off somewhere else to look at something and your still standing their talking thinking theyre still there and listening to you, and when you look back you realise shes not there, and everyone looks at you with a geeky face like this--> , thats awkward
Well yeah thats a few "awkward moments" if remember, shall be sure to mention more
