Inhaling Vicks while fasting - is my fast nullified?

Salam,

I can't find a scholer!

I wish to know whether it is permissible to put one’s nose a tube
that has Vicks that one inhales in order to open (open one’s air ducts)
nasal congestion due to Flu & Cold. If a person uses it while fasting is
his fasting nullified and qadaa obligatory?

I used it while fasting (3 or 4 times) and thought it was Ok! I read
some Islamic Books (rules & regulations of fasting) and found no
mention whether inhaling Vicks invalidates the fast. Only inhaling snuff
(powder) and asthma sufferers are not allowed to use their inhaler while
fasting.

Now I am having second thoughts whether my fasting is valid or not.
Is kaafara necessary?

Please help me to clarify. I follow Hanafi madhab.A prompt reply would be
appreciated.

This is all I could find according to the Hanafi Madhab:

1) Q. salam
can you put vicks inhale/in ur nose during fast?

Asslamu Alaikum,
By inserting any substance though the nose canal would invalidate the fast.
If there is only fragrance and not substance then this would be makrooh but the fast would still be valid.

Assalamu alaikum,
If a fast is broken due to error of knowledge etc then the Qada must be performed. In this case the Qada (single repeat fast) must be done but not the Kaffara.
