Salaam,
Agree that we must Seek refuge in Allah (swt) from them, but also we must learn about them. They were mentioned in the quran and sunnah, and no one is asking to be there friends...

Here is a very recent story of a jiin who took away a boy on last Monday night(20 February 2006) when he got out of his Madrasha room on nature's call. A man appeared him and asked him why he was not discontinuing recitation of the Quran. The boy replied he would never discontinue. The stranger got furious. The boy got ready to defend himself from the stranger's onslaught. As soon as the stranger caught him he got fainted and could say nothing until he was found on Tuesday (21 February 2006) night in a bush in a village far away from where he was taken away. The boy was found in comma in the bush and he narrated the story when he returned to his senses.
