Ottoman State was divided by imperial powers in WW1 but the subjects also betrayed the state. Nationalist Turks and Arabs betrayed equally. Nationalism as a product of the French revolution ended all empires evantually but on the near east it ended the Islamic union too. Muslims of the subcontinent maybe was an exemption. They cared the Islamic union. They maybe knew its value better as being under occupation of a christian state.
What interesting about the Arab regimes is the renewed hostility towards Ottoman history blaming them for all their ills, whether its justified or not.
