We are hosting an Islamic Quiz competition between the Brothers and Sisters of IslamicBoard. Let us see who can score the highest points and who can ask the most difficult question.
To keep the competition fair, we will have some simple rules:
All members of IslamicBoard will be divided into two teams: Brothers and Sisters
Staff members cannot participate in the quiz. They can only post a question if there is a need, or if there is a tie between the teams.
First question will be asked by one of the staff members. Whichever teams answers it correctly can post the next question directed to the other team.
Each team can have a maximum of three attempts to answer a question, each answer coming from a different member of the team. One person cannot attempt the same question twice. So discuss the answer among your team mates before posting.
If a team could not answer a question correctly, they will not get the chance to ask the next question. Only the team that answers correctly can post the next question.
Each right answer will earn your team 2 points. Each wrong answer will earn the questioning team 1 point.
No Googling allowed. You cannot search for direct answers, but you can read a book, an article, chapter etc or consult your knowledgeable friends (they should also not google it), or watch lectures, or go through previous threads on IB etc.
Everyone should mention how he/she found the answer. Be honest. Say whether you read it in a book, learnt it at school, heard it in a lecture or whatever. Don't cheat.
Participants are not allowed to edit their answers once they have posted.
Do not ask questions related to topics on which scholars have differed in their opinions.
Are you all ready? Feel free to discuss and ask for clarifications here.

Reason: Quiz link
Pain and hardships allow you to grow spiritually Alhamdulilah so smile when a so called calamity befalls upon you.
Alhamdulilah Allah swt is the greatest.
But i don't agree with the Brothers VS Sisters thing, it seems like a wrestling match, this will bring us sexism and division between men and women.
Which sex will prove it's superiority over the other ? Sorry, but this is how i see it!
However you can change the competition, and make four teams for example and it's team must have it's proper name, it's team must contain a limited number of participants and it's team must contain women and men. This will create fun and good relation between the two sexes and between the members even if they are competing against each others.
What do you think ?
In the other hand, i liked the point system, but you also need to put the ranking of the teams after each round of questions.

Peace
The only problem with this might be that some brothers and sisters are not comfortable to free mix. If its a "battle" of the 'sexes' there might be more participants as they would not have to worry about free mixing. Just my thought

I don't think that there is some brothers and sisters who feel uncomfortable to mixing, but if you are correct then this is a good occasion for them to communicate with each others without any barriers.
Because boys and girls need to learn how to communicate with each others or it will be hard for us to help each others or when there is some situations which needs a communication between the two genders.
This is how i see it.

we should avoid unnecessary mixing . To know the correct ans , one needs to pm others . So , better if sis sends pm to other sis and bro sends pm to brothers only.
BOOYAKASHA! Ze Owl shall knock out ze competition. I do not understand how the inter-team communication will work. Since I can search specific books or chapters, that means I can go into a specific Hadith chapter according to its name, thank God for that. I also think that each answer should be labelled with the question number and team attempt number to avoid confusion as to whether all the tries are done. Example: Question 3, Team B, Attempt 1. Or 3B1, or even Q3:TB:A1.

It has been narrated on the authority of 'Arfaja who said:
I have heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Different evils will make their appearance in the near future. Anyone who tries to disrupt the affairs of this Umma while they are united you should strike him with the sword whoever he be.
We will be starting the quiz in another thread by asking the first question. Whichever team answers it correctly first will be able to continue by asking the next question.
This thread is only for introduction. For discussion, each team (Brother and Sisters) can create their own discussion threads here in this section. There will not be any cross-team discussion.
An update for the rules: Do not ask questions related to topics on which scholars have differed in their opinions.
To search for answers are we allowed to use other islamic websites other than IB?

Alhamdulilah Allah swt is the greatest.
You can search for topics anywhere and read them to find out the answer. The only search which is not allowed is to search for the question itself or anything very similar to the question that can give you the answer directly.
This is just to encourage members to gain more knowledge by reading more and more about Islam.
