‘None of you has truly believed, until he desires for his brother, that which he desires for himself’ declared the Prophet صلىاللهعليهوسلم. One can never hope to attain Taqwa (fear of Allah) and be truly successful in religion until one adopts and practices selflessness. It was the selflessness and the self-sacrifice of the Prophet صلىاللهعليهوسلم and the Sahabah رضىاللهعنه which was responsible for Islam reaching us today. Islam has placed a great emphasis on the spirit of sacrifice within many of its teachings. Selfishness is a disease which is rampant amongst people, both Muslims and non-Muslims. This talk discusses some aspects of selfishness.
(Excerpt taken from 'Me, Myself and I ' by Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh ul Haq')
"Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).".."[Al Qur'aan 3:2]
