I cannot read mandarin

actually there are few differences in mandarin in Malaysia compared to mandarin in Chinese. A slight different

here, my chinese friends....

因为=YIN WEI(since)

机会=JI HUI (opportunity)

说= SHUO (speak)

一点= YI DIAN(a little)

和= HE （with） 我 = WO (me)

I just want to know what is the different between Hokkien and Mandarin language,was it in slang or totally different?

I think its slang. it sounds alike, but it is different. they come from different part of china, so it should be called a slang. they will pronounce some of the thing very closely, but some will sound very totally different
