I agree that it is best to not overwhelm one's self with all there is to learn. Islam is much more regimented than Christianity and the neccessity of praying in Arabic adds to difficulty of adapting to an Islamic way of life. Take it at your own pace and do your best for the sake of Allah.
It's great to see that you're eager to embrace your new religion, Jeremy!
As others have stated above, take it in steps. Don't take it all in on one go.
Should I seek a source of law other than God, when it is He Who has sent down unto you the Book (Qur'an) fully explained? And those whom We have given them the Book know that it has been sent down from the Lord with truth, so be not of those in doubt.
I am a recent revert myself, I am still getting used to everything myself, but if you ever have any questions feel free to ask.. I may not be able to help as much with the things like quotes from the Quran, but I have been getting better and better at pushing certain things away that seem to surround me in this culture.
May Allah bless you with the same happiness that this religion has blessed me with

'inna adeen wasi3 fa'awghil feeh be rifq inna al'monbata la ardan qata3a wla dhrahan abqa'a favorite hadith of mine though I can't source it.. if anyone of the Arabic speaking members can help me find it would be great.. basically translates to
'religion is vast, so teach with gentility, he who is abrasive (coarse) in his approach, has neither crossed the land nor kept his mode of transport'..really an assimilation of a man who is trying to cross a long desert but feels overwhelmed so he starts beating his horse or camel, until it dies or gets too overwhelmed and tired and runs away.. so he neither keeps his horse, nor does he get to cross the desert..
Islam is very much like any science, you need to approach it with an on-going education.. all of us born Muslim or new Muslims have and can learn something new every day...
I wish you the very best akhi on your journey and insha'Allah you'll feel a brotherhood a sense of community and grow more at peace every day
Ameen
