As for the Arab/Israeli conflict, then I would advise you to leave that aside for the time being, it will not increase you in faith and it maybe a distraction or obstacle in your path in getting to know our Lord. If you really want to know what the real deal is you've to read Quran,a whole Surah is on Bani Israel.Also you can Read Ibn Kathir's al Bidayah wal Nihayah to understand the similarities and differences.But right now I would rather advice you to stick with Quran as well as building your belief on pillars of Islam.
