I personally find reciting in a rhythm helps me to remember an aayah better. I once heard that memorising something in 5 parts is sunnah, but don't quote me on that.
From the Quran, Hadhrat Musa alayhisalaam recited "Rabbish rahli sadri. Wa yassirli amri" (20:25-26) to call upon Allah ta'ala to ease his task. Please refer to the translation and the arabic text rather than transliteration if possible.
