    Arrow Haraam promotions

    Report bad ads?

    Salaam

Basically this applies to everything in life.

Now most of you will probably say don't eat at McDonalds or boycott certain companies because of a political issues, others will say it’s only food or a gift.

Many of us will get offers, promotions, haraam gifts (sweets etc) for the sake of cheap goods!

If you got anything that remotely sounds promotional or offers like for example with some sweets we cannot eat or a money saving book for McDonald’s food, what would you do:

    - Give it to a non-believer?
    - Throw it in the trash can?
    - Recycle it?
    - Take it anyway!?
    - Don’t know!

Some of you may say give it to a non-believer (we tend to do this alot anyway), but isn't our job to convince our non-believing humans to see our way of life, correct them to the right path?

So giving away unwanted gifts, promotional offers and haraam sweets to non-believers because we ourselves cannot take is right or wrong?

What would you do with your haraam gifts (goods, food, drinks)?

Also we have people who make money (profit) for the sake of survival of so fair enough you buy cheap and sell for profit that’s fine... but what if what you’re buying is stolen? Would you knowingly buy stolen items for profit yourself?

Finance is a long issue so I will not go into it, but haraam promotions is something important to look into it and its very much common sense!

Anyway you take care; I hope to hear from you soon, Inshallah.

    Re: Haraam promotions

    Well theres many things like:

    1) Today I got a McDonald food discount booklet (voucher) which makes me eligible for discounted burgers but with McDonalds theres a limited of items we can eat there anyway so most of them are useless to me!

    2) During Xmas people send gifts out of goodwill... which in fine but sometimes they send you sweets that are not halal like gelatine and etc... so what would you do here?

    3) In business we buy in bulk cheap and sell individual for profit this is halal depending on what your selling. But some people buy stolen goods for cheap and sell them that is haraam.

    4) Interest is forbidden yet people say we can just take interest in and give it to the poor but it clearly states we cannot have anything to do with it so why recieve it for the poor... you dont get reward for giving interest to the poor.

    5) Theres many examples if you get free things as gifts that are not suitable what do you do with them!]

I hope that makes more sense!

If you can't refuse the gift, then bin it. Last thing you should do is pass it onto a non-believer as you will just be aiding Haram. It's like buying wine as a gift for a friend who drinks alcohol- it's haram to buy it regardless of whether you will be drinking it or not.

    ^ Added that option.

I don't know what I'd do. Most probably politely reject, or take it and toss it in the bin. I don't like the idea of giving to the non Muslims. It defeats the purpose. If they become Muslims one day, they'll wonder how and why we could do such a thing.

In my mixed logic. Accepting a gift is the same as buying the Item, except your price is 0.

Once it is in your possession it is yours. To give it away is the same as if you had bought it for the other person.

Would you buy something haram for any person?

Well it's better it will go in someone's stomach rather than waste, I don't like throwing food away, I leave the leftovers for birds, and make sure food doesn't go to waste, we work so hard for just so Halal goes down our stomachs, so I care for it. And that same care gets pass down to even Haraam food or sweets whatever you would like to call it.
ex. few days ago my husband got Ice cream, he didn't read ingredients, and it turned out to be Haraam, he spent like $15 on it, since it was open we couldn't return, nor could we eat it...the money was Halal from which Ice cream was bought, so instead of wasting I gave to our neighbour's kids. and they were so happy, their Happiness was well worth our money....hence forward the gift to someone else who has no objection....and would enjoy it

okay this is the second time....I wouldn't buy anything haraam to give it or spend it on a Muslim, but is it also Haraam to buy Haraam stuff for a non-muslim when you know that's what they want???? Please confirm, cuz I have done that in past, and also cuz I don't have anything to go by with.....

    1) Anything haraam for us should technically be haraam for them, why? because if your friend finally decided to convert/revert how would you feel feeding them haraam stuff?

    2) Theres a hadith (I know this is written as I read it only 2 days ago but Im human I forgot the exact translation) which mentions we should give our guests better thing that we would want like you would give your bed to them to stay over or give them the same food or drink to them that you would have and if something is haraam to you, it should be avoided completely. ( I will provide the proof once I re-find it again)

    3) Buying haraam to give to a non-believer is like advertising haraam indirectly! Theres a hadith in Al-Bukhari which states Muslims must not have any onvolvement in alcohol or interest (involvement of buying, selling or using it).

    Hope that helps...
