maybe nm should try to listen to sami yusuf music rather than listening to fm hitz
25:36 And the true servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk the earth with humility and when the ignorant address them, they respond with words of peace.
k cool
by the way
if there are more malaysians
sami will make his concert in malaysia
and there will a special place for us in the forum
i wonder why you guys do not listen to his songs
what is better?
even non-muslims appreciate his appearance in this world
hitz.fm sorry to say is boring and lack of 'HALAL' things to be served...

He should make himself available on Malaysian media ... esp the tv channels... then people would know him.
Like Amal Hejazi, Amr Diab and Pascale Machaalani - how Malaysians know them - thru the media...
A salaamu aleikum,
I'm not a Malay.
I'm not a Malaysian.
However, I have been living in Kuala Lumpur for the past two years and it is actually the place I first heard Sami Yusuf's music. A Dutch sister visiting Malaysia shared some of his music with me and I grew to like it.
I think the best music is the kind that reminds you of Allah every time you listen to it.
I think the best music is the kind that ...
If you died humming it, you'd be like those who die reciting the shahada.
What song would you want to be on your mind at the final hour???
Oh no!!!!!!!
sorry sorry !!!!!
i should have explained further
the pop music lyrics that take us away from Allah (don't want to give examples but you know what i mean)...
those are not the kind i would want to be ringing in my ears in my last moments in this dunia. In fact I am trying to stay away from them altogether.
I would rather be singing some of Sami Yusuf's lyrics than to be singing those kinds of lyrics
my point is
when we listen to music it lingers in our brain, in our mind, in our heart
so
let it be something that reminds us of Allah
I did not mean that his songs are EQUIVALENT TO saying shahada
in fact, as i was typing that i was afraid someone might misinterpret me
I hope i have made myself more clear
May Allah forgive me if I have made an offensive statement in the previous post
k yh i think he should make himself available in the media
but how?
well i don't know how I know him well as I know a Malaysian munshideen
maybe more than that
the easiest way:
you have got internet
just go to his web
and read abt him there
then PLS join ME in that forum
i'm bored
i need some malaysians there
come on
be helpful
ok, if u north malaysian isn't a malay, what are u actually?
i am an indian muslim
MAMAK!
MAWADDAH, what do you mean?
is there anything haram there to listen sounds like rock and roll?
take note that malaysians ulama' have given fatwa that
music is not haram
k i don't wanna be out of the topic
i don't wanna discuss if music is haram or not
^^^well there are some ulama' who did say haraam...and you can't ignore that too...
well as for me...i'm trying to avoid listening to music as much as i can. because i'm trying to replace all the musics with quran recitation. i'm trying to memorise quran...
so you can see that...if i listen to musics...for sure my mind will be clouded with songs but not quran....
which one you think is better?
memorise quran or songs?
p/s:- lets not try to make this thread a debate whether a music is haram or not...

Taman Melati ... very near to International Islamic University!!! There is one 'makcik' (auntie) selling fried bananas near the playground there. I used to buy some from her....kay:
