and for the record; i'm an older Amercian gent who reverted to Islam close to 8 months ago. i reside in Tukwila, Washington and usually attend the SeaTac Massajid. (although sometimes i'm at Masjid Towa in Seattle or the Bellevue Masjid; OR the Idris Mosque in Nothgate)
my sons, Joe & Todd, are in their late 20's; and i have 2 grandsons, Jalen & Koa. they all reside in New Hampshire to be near their mother and my ex-wife.
i reside in/near Seattle to be FAR from my ex-wife!
i work for a company that shuttles folks to and from doctor visits. and if you've never driven 'round here, you just don't know how tough the driving can be...BUT, that is also how i met ALOT of Muslims and eventually led me to returning to worshipping Allah Subhannahoo Wa Ta' Alla (Alhumdulillah!!!); so i'm not really complaining about it!
i DO get to discuss Islam with a number of people, especially those that new me before my "reversion". i started wearing Pakistani chamise's to work because most Muslims didn't believe i was a Muslim, at least until i would press play on the cd player and they would hear some nasheeds or the Holy Qur'an!
my health is horrible, but if it's more of a blessing because when one knows one's time is limited, one tends think a tad more about the "unseen"!
i am looking forward to reading and posting on a board frequented by Brothers & Sisters in Islam!!!!!!
oh, i'm really dyslexic so unless i find a spell check...well, just be forwarned!
A warm welcome to the Truth of Islam and to this forum. Insha'Allah you'll enjoy it here.

Yeah, your kids are all in their twenties, and you're a grandparent, so you must be at least a bit older than most members from this forum!
I must be respectful to the elders, like to our uncle moderator Woodrow.
So I shall call you uncle Yusuf, if you don't mind of course!
Little one? Aww...

uncle Yusuf is fine "little one"
i remember a couple of months ago, we had this family with darling little children who used to frequent the Masjid. i greeted one of the younger ones as "brother" one day. he was puzzled for a moment, and then said, "but Yusuf, you're more like my grandfather!"
so i reminded him that i was younger than him "in Islam"
he smiled.
i rarely get to the Masjid near where they moved to, but i think i shall pay it a visit vey soon, Insha' Allah! i miss them!

Oh my... That's just so sweet. :rose:
Wouldn't have thought of it that way... Hmm, you're smart uncle! Masha'Allah.
Yes, pay them a visit, insha'Allah. I'm sure they'll be happy to see you.

erm, not really! i'ts just that, by having a brain that doesn't function like others, i get to see/view the world as no-one one else can! so rather than view it as a handicap, i embrace it as a gift from Allah (SWT)!
