    The Most Important Commandment in the Bible According to Jesus [as]

    Jesus (peace be upon him) is reported to have said:
    "The most important of commandments is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!'"
    Mark 12:29

    {[Jesus said], "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."}[Maryam; 36]

    {And to warn those who say, " Allah has taken a son." They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie.}[al-Kahf;4-5]

    Re: The Most Important Commandment in the Bible According to Jesus [as]

    “And We have indeed sent to EVERY nation a messenger (saying to his people): ‘Worship Allāh alone and avoid the Taghut (false deities).” [Surah An-Nahl: 36]

    As for the description of Rejecting the Taghut, then it is that you believe in the futility of worshipping other than Allāh, and that you abandon doing so and hate it, and that you reject and make enmity with does who do it. And as for the meaning of Believing in Allāh, then it is that you believe that Allah is the only true God who deserves to be worshipped alone, apart from everything else besides Him. And it is that you make all types of worship – every act - sincerely for Allāh alone, while negating and rejecting that from everything else that is worshipped besides Him. In Islam doing righteous act to "show off" (riyah) or corrupt intentions is considered minor shirk (associating partners with God). Minor shirk is a major sin in Islam.

    where are you commanded to make enmity with those who ascribe partners to god? i don't remember ever reading that you are commanded to hate christians, for example.
    btw, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!' is the most important commandment in judaism also, which of course is where it came from.

    Re: The Most Important Commandment in the Bible According to Jesus [as]

    Greetings and peace be with you Abu Sayyad;

    Our most important belief is in one God, but Jesus also gave us the greatest commandments. These commandments tell us what we are to do about our beliefs in one God.

    Mathew 22

    The Greatest Commandment
    34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
    36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[b] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
    In the spirit of searching for a loving God.
