My name is Nadine, and I was borned and raised muslim. I have three brothers and no sisters.
I want to learn more about Islamic and this is why I come here. I am 21 years old, and soon to be 22 years old and I don't know how to pray. My main goal is to learn how to pray in four days before I head back to school for the fall semester.
aslaam Alykoum nadine.. enjoy your stay on LI.. try to browse the forum a little as I am sure tons of videos are posted on how to pray.. once you master it, start with Isha'A prayer tonight insha'Allah--
you can use this short sura for starters after al-fatiha, It is one of my favorites

Awww thank you everyone! Those sites look really good. Is it for a certain muslim? For example, I'm shia. I really don't like dividing ourselves. We are muslims here. So back to my question. Does it matter what kind of muslim you are?
Oh I'm sorry that isn't what I meant. Let's me clear myself here. For learning how to pray. In those videos it mostly sunni that are praying in it. I for one like to learn it the shia way. It will be less more confusing in the long run. Plus, the beginers video in english doesn't not work on the newcomers forum.
I think shiites, at least the two lebanese shiites I knew prayed only 3 times a day as opposed to five.. that is not the proper way in Islam, but you are certainly free to ask a member of your family on the hows of praying with that particular faction... sectarianism is condemned in Islam, thus all of us Muslims here believe there is one consensus on how to perform prayers, and that is the same with 90% of Muslims of whom sunnat illah warasool is the correct way (inna Allah ma3 ajama3a)!

Oh...yea my mother used to do that way. She did try to teach me that why before. And I found that way confusing. She was combining morning and after noon prayer into one. But I am not planing on doing it that way. I want to get in the habit of praying five times a day. I did go to those site and right now I am frustrated.
I am learning from the book. The book is called the five daily prayers by Imam Mohamad Jawad Chirri. I pretty much got everything down expect for 2 section.
The Declaration of The Faith: Ash-hadualla-illaha illa-llah
Wahdahoo La shareeka Lah
Wa Ash-Hadu Anna Mohammadan Abdu-hu Warasooluh
Allahumma ssalli Ala Mohammad Wa-ali Mohammad
Greetings(the ending): Assalamu Aleika ayyuha-nnabiyyo Wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Assalamu aleina wa ala ibadi-llahi-Ssaliheen
Assalamu Aleikum wa rahmatu-llahi wa barakatuh
The ending I almost got it. But I need to hear it so I can know for sure. I have been looking for these all over. My family members don't pray. My father is sick with cancer. My mom works. My brothers, I don't know what their excuse is. But I have been trying to learn how to pray since high school. And now I am almost there. It is a good thing my mom taugh my brothers and I the Fatiha. I believe that would be the most hardest part, if I had to learn it now.
however, I am just a little confused on how many times to bent and go down for each prayer.
