    My thread of poems

    Report bad ads?

    As Salaam Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

    Think

    Closed doors blocked my view,
    the view of of what life could be.
    The scent of roses I never knew,
    and concept of peace I could never see.

    I stood facing this door most of my life.
    I kept my tears for later.
    untill my role as an innocent wife,
    was ended by my Creator.

    Twise not once, but once too many.
    I always asked my soul to soften.
    My memories of love are few if any,
    twice not once but once too often.

    I've learnt to forgive but to forget is not real.
    I seek my pride in where it is high.
    It's where the closed door used to conceal,
    deep in my tears that I carefully cry.

    I dont hate the men that hurt me,
    nor do I wish them harm.
    For they will soon come to see,
    They cant persuade Allah Taala with their charm.

    I am 22 but I'm old, in the sense that I know pain.
    So what ever hurts me now in life, it's all cool.
    My morals and dignity forever remain,
    as long as I follow one simple rule.

    To move on....thats all anyone can do.
    To dwell on our hurt, we basically die.
    Now I am able to say and it's true,
    I was cured by my Lord, because He told me to cry.

    Re: My thread of poems

    sis i'll post some of ur poems that u have posted before. if u dont mind.

    Where Would I Be Without The Quran?

    Where would I be without the Quran?
    Would I be guided?
    Would I be strong?
    Would I be protected from evil and wrong?
    Would I hear my Creator's Words?
    Would I hear Him describe the birds?
    Would I know the stories of the old?
    Would I realise their worth in gold?

    Where would I be without the Quran?
    Would I find safety when others fear?
    Would I find peace whilst sitting here?
    Would I be happy when others are sad?
    Would I be protected from going mad?
    Would I be patient when things get tough?
    Would I be firm when the seas are rough?

    Where would I be without the Quran?
    Would I get to know the One above?
    Would I increase for him my love?
    Would I be aware of the Day to come?
    Would I value what is worthless to some?
    Would I be able to sleep at night?
    Would I be able to see with His light?

    Where would I be without the Quran?
    Would I have examples to follow?
    Would I rejoice when others are in sorrow?
    Would I have fear of the Burning Fire?
    Would I be at the bottom of the sea,
    And have hope, that one day, my Lord will release me?

    Re: My thread of poems

    Just Why?

    Why do you question my smile?
    Why do you feel nervous around me?
    Why do you frown at my my dress code and style?
    Why can't you see the peace that surrounds me?

    Why do you walk faster if I happen to be behind you?
    Why do you hold tight to your kids like I'm gonna explode?
    Do you think only you can show love that is real and true?
    You think only one race can walk down this road?

    Why are you threatened by my pride and my way?
    Why do you hate when I'm near you?
    Why do you mock how I worship and pray?
    Why? when you are yearning a peace like mine so true.

    Why does our Book scare you?
    Too many answeres without you needing to ask?
    Science was never a stong point at school?
    Is reading it a heart breaking task?

    Why can't you see that we are very alike, we believe in the Books of God?
    We worship One and we pray every day and fast and give to the poor!
    why can't you see that T.V turns our belief into fraud?
    If you'd just open your eyes to our connection so sure!

    Why wont you hear me out when I say we're all about peace?
    Why is it that you look over all the good that we do?
    No nation is pure and sinless with no crease!
    Respect me please, as I respect you!

    Reflection

    The wind my armour, the sky my shade.
    The sea my rock ,the soil my blade.
    The fear my fuel,the sound my food.
    The rythm, my step, steel my blood.
    My breath the lions roar.
    My eyes, the past's reflection.
    My key to deaths black door.
    My soul awaiting Allah Taala correction.
    My oath, my swear.
    My smile through despair.
    My fist a handful of hate.
    My heart beckoning its fate.
    The vibration of the call.
    To stand up high or fall.
    The shadows whisper pity as the mirror says it all.

    Poles of light

    Poles of light on the masjid floor
    Another world through an open door
    Im alive and this is now my faith
    For the first time
    Maybe I can relate

    Bowing down as I touch my knees
    Thinking about world there to see
    Deep inside I feel my soul on fire
    To serve is my one desire

    Close together in the front row
    I remember how the foreign words would flow
    Tune my ears into another tongue
    How could people ever think its wrong

    Daylight comes as I know I it would
    On my knees praying like I knew
    I would do anything of thats asked
    If I thought this breath was to be my last

    The Dream

    Love, if I weep it will not matter,
    And if you laugh I shall not care;
    Foolish am I to think about it,
    But it is good to feel you there.

    Love, in my sleep I dreamed of waking,
    White and awful the moonlight reached
    Over the floor, and somewhere, somewhere
    There was a shutter loose- it screeched!

    Swung in the wind and no wind blowing
    I was afraid and turned to you,
    Put out my hand to you for comfort-
    And you were gone! Cold as the dew,

    Under my hand the moonlight lay!
    Love, if you laugh I shall not care,
    But if I weep it will not matter-
    Ah, it is good to feel you there.

    Re: My thread of poems

    Perfect

    I always wonder; is it ever worth it?
    To try and strive to be ever so perfect?

    Who determines what perfect is and what isn't?
    Who truly is so happy and lives so pleasant?

    Who has never cheated, lied, hurt or has been hurt
    Yet still is sweet and kind, and knows what a soul is worth?

    Which mortal has lived heaven on earth?
    Who can live and say, I will never die from the day of birth?

    That sounds too good to be perfect.
    Let me help define how a human is perfect.

    Perfect is being able to forgive and forget,
    To be able to realize your mistakes and repent,

    To realize our bad, and promise to never do it again,
    But then again, we're only humans in the end.

    Delicate soul

    Delicate soul of perfumed silk battered off the cold rocks in the ocean of trials.
    Desperate calls of mercy as the wind howls calls of warning against shallow hearts and smiles.
    Rain of wisdom and dust of honor that keep the soul alive.
    Mind of thoughts and feelings locked in, with faith that hope will soon arrive.
    Heart so tender, eyes so red, blood that pumps in pain.
    Watch the future unfold, a sad story told of man who lived in vain.
    Delicate soul of perfumed silk, aim high in peace and ease.
    Rise up from your anguish, rise up from your knees.
    Regret will bring you nowhere but never let it leave you.
    Hold the past in the palm of your hand,out of your heart where it can hurt you.

    Before Dawn

    For the Mujahidoon

    We are sleeping,
    Tucked away in our beds of Solitude,
    a distant call rings in our ears,
    A passing sound of mixed up dreams,

    There is no end to this complacency,
    no want for something more,
    for this is all there is,
    We are but foam upon the shore,

    We sleep so soundly until,
    there will come crashing waves on waves,
    the dissipation of the foam,
    the hearkening of the slaves,

    we are asleep,
    though we are not dead,
    we will return,
    when that call will raise us early from this bed.

    And those who pray Fajr

    Stand strong upon the mountain

    Stand strong upon the mountain
    For truth is on your side
    Though the ground appears to break
    and the earth is opening wide

    Stand strong upon the mountain
    Our Deen is there to guide
    Though the world appears to shake
    Your very heart from deep inside

    Stand strong upon the mountain
    Those words so well revealed
    Though the world will always doubt
    Use that age old shield

    Stand strong upon the mountain
    That evil can’t abide
    Though it wants to fight the truth
    Allah’s on your side

    Stand strong upon the mountain
    Even death can’t reach you there
    Though it tries to make you fear
    Go forth without a care

    The Hajj

    And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj). [Al-Hajj 22:27]

    The Hajj - A Poem
    by Imâm Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

    The Hajj - The Journey

    By Him whose House the loving pilgrims visit,
    Responding with ihram at the appointed limit,
    Uncovering their heads in total humility
    Before One to Whom faces bow in servility.
    They exclaim in the valleys, "We have responded to You -
    All Praise is Yours, and Kingdom too!"
    He invited and they answered, with love and pleasure;
    When they called upon Him, nearer came the Divine treasure.
    You see them on their mounts, hair dusty and dishevelled,
    Yet never more content, never happier have they felt;
    Leaving homelands and families due to holy yearning,
    Unmoved are they by temptations of returning.
    Through plains and valleys, from near and far,
    Walking and riding, in submission to Allah.

    At the Ka’bah

    When they see His House - that magnificent sight
    For which the hearts of all creatures are set alight -
    It seems they’ve never felt tired before,
    For their discomfort and hardship is no more.
    Now the eye of the Lover drowns in its streams,
    It sees through its tears the goal of its dreams;
    Now for Allah, how many tears are issued,
    Each one being followed by a multitude?
    When the eye perceives the House, its darkness clears,
    And from the sorrowful heart, pain disappears;
    Vision cannot encompass this beautiful sight:
    Each glance returns with greater delight!
    No wonder at this, for when the Merciful preferred
    The House for Himself, it became most honoured.
    He clothed it in Majesty, a magnificent garment;
    Embroidered it with Beauty, a wonderful ornament!
    The hearts all love the House therefore,
    Awed and humbled, in respect and honour.

    ‘Arafat

    Now to ‘Arafat, hoping for Mercy and Forgiveness
    From the One overflowing with Generosity and Kindness;
    Now for Allah is that Magnificent Standing
    Like, though lesser than, the Day of Reckoning.
    The Irresistible draws near, His Majesty manifest,
    Boasting to His angels, for He is the Mightiest,
    "My slaves have come to Me so lovingly,
    I’ll be Generous and Merciful, willingly.
    I have forgiven their sins, – to this you are witness –
    Fulfilled their hopes, and showered them with goodness.
    " So joyous news! O people of that standing,
    When sins are forgiven and Mercy is spreading;
    How many slaves are set completely free?
    Whilst others seek a cure, and heal will He.
    Now Satan is never known to lose such face:
    He’s blameworthy, rejected, in utter disgrace.
    For he sees a matter that enrage him must:
    He flees, slaps his face and covers it in dust!
    Such Forgiveness he never did see
    As granted by the Lord, and such Mercy!
    He built his edifice from every temptation available
    Till he thought it was complete, unassailable;
    Then Allah struck his building at its very foundation,
    So it fell upon him, tumbling in devastation;
    What worth has his structure, this evil ploy,
    That he does build, and the Lord does destroy?

    Muzdalifah & Mina

    Now to Muzdalifah, to spend the night
    In the Sacred Area, then Prayer at first light;
    Now on to the Great Pillar, which they need
    To stone at the time of the Prayer of ‘Id;
    Now to their tents for the sacrifice prepared,
    Reviving the tradition of a Father revered.
    If sacrificing themselves were Allah’s demand,
    They would respond, submitting to the command;
    Just as they’d expose their necks in Jihad
    To Allah’s enemies, till these stream with blood;
    They discipline themselves, presenting the head for a shave:
    Bringing humility and happiness to the obedient slave.

    The Tawaf of Ifadah/Ziyarah

    So when they’ve removed those natural growths,
    Completed their rites, and fulfilled their oaths,
    He invites them again to visit His House:
    What honour and welcome this visit allows!
    By Allah, they visit it in so much splendour,
    Receiving their rewards and plenty of honour;
    There Allah bestows Grace, Favour and Kindness,
    Showing Generosity, Mercy and Forgiveness.

    Mina

    Then they return to Mina, each to his tent,
    Every minute wish is granted, and they are content;
    They stay there a day, then another, then a third,
    They’re allowed to depart early, but to stay is preferred;
    They stone the pillars daily after the sun’s decline,
    With a slogan of Takbir in the presence of the Divine!
    If only you could see their standing there:
    Palms outstretched, hoping for Mercy’s share!
    "O Lord! O Lord! Knowing as You do
    That we hope for no-one, only You!
    Then grant our wish, O You All-Knowing,
    We pray for Your Mercy overflowing."

    The Farewell Tawaf

    When they’ve achieved at Mina all their gains,
    Once more they fill the valleys and plains:
    To the Ka’bah, the Sacred House, by the end of the day,
    To circle it seven times, and then to Pray.
    When departure nears and they are certain
    That the bond of proximity is about to loosen,
    There’s only a last stand for a final farewell:
    Now for Allah are the eyes that swell,
    And for Allah are the heavy hearts that turn
    Into cauldrons of desire where fire does burn;
    And the passionate sighs whose heat so vigorous
    Nearly melts the Lover, ecstatic, rapturous!
    Now you see those bewildered, perplexed in the throng,
    Whilst others chant their sorrowful song:
    "I depart, but there remains for You my yearning,
    My fire of grief is raging and burning;
    I bid farewell, but longing pulls my reins -
    My heart is encamped in Your eternal plains!"
    No blame today for saying what you feel:
    No blame for expressing what you used to conceal!

    A Majestic Sight: the Holy Kaabah

    In the Name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful

    The powerful, dazzling, majestic sight,
    Which befalls all day and night
    As far as you can see is...
    It standing with all power and might.
    Enter the realm and LO!... BEHOLD!
    There stands the power; dressed in black and gold,
    Your tears would turn to laughs of joy
    And on Islam, you would have a better hold.

    All the creations revolving around,
    Even the sun, the sky, the ground!
    All eyes on the magnificient house,
    To keep looking at it, you are bound.

    No sight equal in the world there is,
    Than looking at it and entering bliss!!
    For seeing this sight you're bound to know,
    That there is ALLAH, and Islam is this.

    From this blissful experience I know
    That from all the rivers of religions that flow...
    Islam is truly the one that's pure,
    In front of ALLAH, down I bow!
