getting more depressed because of friend

if you dont understand the type of relationship i am in, please dont judge me i am trying to find my way i only want help from some fellow muslims. i have a "friend" of mine who sometimes makes me really happy, but alot of times makes me really depressed. before i converted to islam, i met a guy online. he is not a muslim. we have been talking for about 2 years now. during that time, i have sort of "fallen" for him. somedays i talk to him, he makes me feel very happy. but somedays, he says things that make me feel bad about myself or he says things about pornography that he watches and stuff which REALLY makes me feel uncomfortable. i know that its wrong to continue to associate myself with him but its like im addicted to him almost...i cant break away from him@_@ yesterday he was telling me that hes not really "into girls who look like me" and that he likes more of "latin and cute japanese girls". he says im too docile and boring. when i say that it hurts my feelings to be told this, he says "i think you are pretty too is just i have my preference, and is annoying when you get all upset". sometimes he can be really nice, but sometimes it just feels like i am being insulted. i dont understand why i still feel so attached to this person, he used to be so nice to me all the time, but now its only when he is feeling good. i cant talk to anyone about it because i dont want anyone to judge me about it, but i really need someone to help me. i never feel like i am good enough , so why do i keep holding on?

You are worth more than that why are you punishing yourself and keeping in contact if he insults you?

I feel as though you are insulting yourself when you know that this is happening you should break contact with him.............. Do it for your own good and sanity sister. You dn't need him. Sorry to be harsh.:enough!:

I think you're hanging on to the moments he made you feel good about yourself. You don't need him to do that for you though. Sorry to say but i wanna puke just thinking about guys like that and the way he talks etc.. and so should you sis. If Allah swt, had guided you to the right Path then why allow this guy to ruin your imaan? If you spend more time, learning the deen and doing deeds to gain the pleasure of Allah swt, you'll feel much better and have a sense of self-respect and confidence about yourself. You don't need to look for that in people who have no self-respect themselves.

Friends don’t depress you, enemies do. He is a predator and I would have given him a piece of my fist for taking advantage of you. Sis, you are a Muslim now and you are on a higher level than him, don’t lower yourself to his level. Surround yourself with positive Muslims or non Muslims that will not play with your emotions and YES YOU CAN BREAK AWAY FROM HIM.

You might be emotionally attached to him, but logically and physically you are free. It will be hard, but know that you will be doing the right thing by distancing yourself away from him. Doing the right thing sometimes does hurt, so try being patient and know that being patient is difficult.

At the end the decision is yours and May Allah help you to make the right choose.
