With the help of some very special individuals on LI, we were able to start an Islamic blog called Islamicink in the early months of '07. However, due to all of us getting busy and what not, we were unable to keep up with it.
Through e-mails and comments, there has been a large amount of requests from readers mashallah to continue the blog. Truthfully, it's not easy keeping up with a blog so regularly when there are many people involved, but it feels so rewarding knowing that many people are appreciating the work being put into it.
Rather than leaving the blog as is, I realized that there are many talented members here who could make an excellent contribution to the blog. If someone could combine their skills, be it writing, photography, calligraphy, graphic design, etc., and put an Islamic twist to it, it'd be a great honor to use it. Also, just sharing some experiences that other Muslims and non-Muslims could relate to is always interesting.
Alhemdulilah starting out, we were one of the fastest growing blogs and people were posting some articles on a variety of different sites. If anyone is interested, feel free to let me know. If there's a big enough group of people, there's a separate forum specifically to discuss any ideas and assist those who are just starting out or want to do this for a while as a hobby or something. We even help each other on the editing, such as making sentences more coherent, pointing out typos, or suggesting better references, so your English doesn't have to be perfect as long as you have a lot of knowledge about something and know exactly what you want to get across.
If anyone is finding themselves bored or is willing to give up some of their time and wants to do this, lemme know Inshallah. Also, if you know someone else who might be interested, let them know too.
25:36 And the true servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk the earth with humility and when the ignorant address them, they respond with words of peace.
