    Question about Hajj

    Report bad ads?

Hajj is obligated to every physically, mentally, and financially able Muslim. But say one does not react well mentally in large crowds especially in such close proximity to others. It's a form of claustrophobia. Would it still be obligated of them?

    Re: Question about Hajj

    Peace Boaz,

Where there's a will there's a way. There's lots of things that can be done to avoid getting into large crowds. When circumambulating the ka'bah (tawaaf), one can stick to the very outside edge of the tawaaf, where you are not in close proximity to others. You could even go up to the middle floor, where it is even less crowded for tawaf, or even the roof, where it is less crowded still.

When in Minaa and Arafaat you are mainly in tents with others in your group, but when stoning the jamaraat, you can walk on the outside edge of the crowd or even away from them, and change your timings a bit etc.

The rites of Hajj tend to be in large open spaces, so there's always something that can be done to make things easier for yourself.

I don't think there would be any reason for someone to be exempted from the obligation because of this, but Allah knows best.

It depends on the severity of the persons condition. If the persons social anxiety condition is so serious that a medical specialist recommends that the person does not go in front of large crowds then that person may get exemption if a qualified Muslim scholar deems that the persons condition makes them exempt from going in front of large crowds and therefore from doing Hajj.

The same applies to fasting if the person is deemed as not being able to physically fast by a specialist then that person may also get exemption after discussing their situation with a qualified Muslim scholar. Every case will be treated on an individual basis by the qualified Muslim scholar depending on their condition and whether or not there are any alternatives or whether the condition is so serious that there is no way that person can possibly fulfill the act.

Allah wants ease for his followers and he would never burden his followers with that which they cannot handle.

And Allah knows best in all matters

Well many people think that facing crowd is tough and can be very trouble some for the mentally distorted person. its all depend on the group of people with which people are moving you need to stay together and then move on toward different parts of haj. don't need to think other then the task you have to perform.

Well going in crowd facing them and staying their with them create enzytee to many people. but nothing is impossible in this world. So thos people who have any kind of problem with crowd can go in group with their family members and have to stay with them in center, try to focus on what they have to do and where they are going then all this problem and feeling will vanish soon.
