Re: [Infographic] Will British airstrikes stop ISIS?
In the U.S., President Obama will soon be sending ground troops to fight ISIS. Now, honestly, most Americans (including me) are absolutely tired of war. So, I hope the ground troops are able to make some kind of difference to the fight against ISIS.
I do believe bombings in Syria likely feeds into the cycle of terrorism because, say, a child sees his mother or father killed in an airstrike. Well, how likely is that this child having witnessed this horror will want vengeance and having nothing for which to live be easily recruited into ISIS? So, airstrikes are not helpful, IMHO.
I don't know what we can do as a layperson to make a difference as of course the political sphere is not the domain in which anyone excels excepts politicians out to manipulate masses. That said, maybe creating awareness of issues in this way as done with sharing this infographic is a small yet refreshing piece of sanity in what seems like a cyclical political insanity of "war on terrorism."
