As per quran and sunnah ,what must parents look when trying to pick Daughter-in-Law

As per below hadith, It is mentioned for parents , that are selecting Son-in-law, to go for character and deen

"If he whose character and deen (practice of religion) pleases you, approaches you in marriage, then marry him, for if you don’t, their will be fitna in the land and vast corruption. " (Tirmidhi)

Similarly what should they look for a daughter-in-law and is the same mentioned somewhere in the Quran or hadiths?

besides deen and character, should they also look for wealth ,status , tribe etc ?

Re: As per quran and sunnah ,what must parents look when trying to pick Daughter-in-

    Assalamu alaykum,

As you've mentioned, when choosing a spouse for yourself or for your child, whether male or female, the main priority is someone who has deen and character - these will ensure the marriage is a successful one inshaAllah, this applies for both genders.

Wealth, beauty, status, tribes, these are all secondary, worldly considerations.

Of course, if it is an arranged marriage, I read somewhere that it is recommended the man and woman meet each other at least once, obviously this should not be in seclusion, but with their parents of mahrams also present. It is important that their feelings are taken into account and they want to marry each other, so that would also be a point to consider.

What comes to my mind immediately is this verse from the Qur'an, which states clearly that goodness in character is the priority. InshaAllah someone can provide other ayats/hadiths.

Women impure are for men impure, and men impure for women impure and women of purity are for men of purity, and men of purity are for women of purity: these are not affected by what people say: for them there is forgiveness, and a provision honourable. (24:26)
