Meaning: "O my Lord, grant me (a child) who Includes the righteous. So We gave Him a happy news with a child who is very patient. So when the child arrived (at the age of being able) to work with Ibrahim, Ibrahim said: "O my son! I see in a dream that I slaughtered you. Then think what you think! "He replied:" O my father, do as you are commanded; God willing you will find me Including those who are patient ".
Two words that come to our mind hearing this story: Faithfulness and Patience.
We should not forget three things from this story:
We should understand that no one is free from Allah's testing.
The reward and blessings of God, is greater if we obey his orders.
When Prophet Ibrahim (AS) was commanded by Allah (SWT), he consulted his son about God's order, he never forced his son. I think this is a good example for present and future parents not to force their children to anything. Of course, children can be given advice but the final decision should be taken by the children.
