The Mahdi (Arabic: مهدي‎ transliterated: Mihdī, also Mehdi; "Guided One"), in Islamic eschatology, is the prophesied redeemer of Islam, who will change the world into a perfect Islamic society before Yaum al-Qiyamah (literally "Day of the Resurrection").

The exact nature of the Mahdi differs according to Sunni and Shi'a Muslims. For a more in-depth Shi'a account of the Mahdi, see Muhammad al-Mahdi.

    Could this be the same?

Kalki (also rendered by some as Kalkin and Kalaki) is the tenth and final Maha Avatara (Great Avatar) of Vishnu the Preserver, who will come to end the current Kali Yuga, (The Age of Darkness and Destruction). The name Kalki is often a metaphor for "Eternity" or "Time". The origins of the name probably lie in the word Kalka which refers to "dirt", "filth" or "foulness" and hence denotes the "Destroyer of Foulness", "Destroyer of Confusion", "Destroyer of Darkness", or "The Annihilator of Ignorance". In Hindi kal ki avatar means "tomorrow's avatar". Other similar and divergent interpretations (based on varying etymological derivations from the ancient Sanskrit language, —including one simply meaning "White Horse") have been made.

    Ėk Gusā Alhu Mėrā
The One Lord, the Lord of the World, is my God Allah.

Dhan Guru Arjan Dev Mahraaj Ji!

Kal Meh Bėḏ Atharbaṇ Hū Nā Kẖuḏā Alhu Bẖa.
In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Atharva Veda became prominent; Allah became the Name of God.

Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Mahraaj Ji!

The Mahdi will actually help Isa(Jesus) may peace and blesings be upon him, establish this perfect society.

I remember hearing talk by Zakir Naik on "Similiarities between Hinduism and Islam". he mentions the relevance of kalki and avatar to islamic belief. but this has not been confirmed in ou Book, the Qur'an, so we cannot take his opinion for granted.

Anyway from the context you have stated. it cannot be so.Secondly, you mention "Vishnu", a hindu god..?basically "kalki" means reincarnation doesn't it? that god takes a human form, so how can there be a relevance here to the mehdi, since the mehdi is not a god, but an ordinary man?
