    The English word for Masdar is an Infinitive/Verbal Noun.

    Assalamoalikom

    Another meaning of (Masdar) is (source)

    example:

    Masdar tabeee (a natural source)

    Estakhdem masdar (to Quote a source )


    masdar el mataaeb (the source of trouble)

    if the word used while talking about a topic in grammar ,it means (gerund)

    root E.G. ba da la (change, replace, reform) its masdar :tabdeel

    masdar is commonly refered to as verbal noun.
