Residents of Gaza on Monday were coping with power cuts which led to long lines at bakeries and darkened hospital wards, but Israel said reports of a humanitarian crisis were exaggerated.

Israel closed all border crossings between Israel and Gaza on Friday after days of rocket attacks on southern Israel. The closure blocks the entrance of fuel, food, and medicine, but the Israeli government promised any Palestinians who need medical treatment would be allowed to cross.
Much of Gaza was in the dark Sunday night and Monday morning. Long lines stretched around bakeries, some of which had to shut because their power supply was cut; use of generators was limited for fear the fuel used to operate them would run out.
At Shiffa Hospital in Gaza City, patients lay next to blank monitors and other equipment that was turned off.
Egypt adds voice to Gaza outcry
Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak has telephoned the Israeli prime minister to warn him of the humanitarian effects of Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip.
In the call, Mr Mubarak "stressed the need to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people", the official Mena news agency reported.
The Arab League is holding an emergency session and the EU has condemned the "collective punishment" in Gaza.

Can't edit, but I forgot to add random rocket attacks are wrong too. It's haram to kill innocents, we should just destroy the Israeli army. But I can understand why Palestine would do as they are, since they are oppressed by this terrorist state and have no real army or weapons like these cowards do.
I am a palestinian ,, but I live inside the israeli occupation "inside who they call israel" . . my city name is taybe , , there are no jews or christians in my city .. we are sunni muslims .... our problem that we cant go to gaza and we cant help our brothers and volunteering some food ...
It must be true what says the humanitarian organization because i read here about the pregnant women which can't go to the hospital after darkness. (the article was something: giving birth like in the Mary time).
Time Israel took a few steps back and had a good look, because this is esculationg too far. Hamas should suspend all activities and see if this gets a promising reaction from the Isrealis.
