What would you see and experience if the clocks rolled forward 50 years? In a unique blend of drama and science. Will we have flying cars? Will advances in medicine help us stay young forever? What about "printing" custom-made vital organs? What will our cities look like? What will tomorrow's wars be about? Will we have robots helping around the house? Will solar power be the new oil? Supported by the world's leading scientists and research institutes, we embark on a quest to answer some of society's most fundamental questions and reveal the dramas of tomorrow's world along the way. State-of-the-art computer graphics in combination with a dynamic story line will create a world usually only seen in feature films, but with the accuracy and relevance of a documentary. This series is all about opening the window of our future based on science fact, not science fiction.

This is the first of three drama-documentaries Insallah I'll post the next two soon. Enjoy

Assalamu Alaikum

I can't fathom the idea of the world 50 years later. I think it will be very chaotic and unstable. We are thinking of technology in terms of luxury, however if we don't start taking action and begin to take care of our world in terms of environmental stability, there will be no future to have any sort of luxury.

Forget environmental stability, with the dawn of a new era, I can foresee nothing but more chaos.

What do you see in present day?

It is on the rise that individuals are seeking ways to beat the system and when the system will be constantly beaten by the likes of these individuals, there will be no 'system' held in place.

Let alone a system, with more and more people turning secular, people are forgetting values. I think Sheikh Sulieman Mulla put it best when he said that people need to realize that they are being watched constantly and need to instill the fear of Allah in their hearts. Now a days when people turn every corner, they are finding surveillance cameras, what happens when there are none present? When people believe in Allah, there'd be no need for surveillance cameras.

Anyway, I've watched this series and its quite interesting. Some ideas are certainly plausible, where as others seem far-fetched. Nonetheless, an interesting watch.

True. Intristic fear is greater than any external intimidations.

I know what we WON'T be seeing, fish & chips.

Honey Bees are dying out too...They pollinate over 1/3 of the food that we eat!

I've read the newspaper that in 50 years time, the temperature will rise up by 5 degree celcius... and the green Malaysia would be like Somalia.

Looking back to 50 years ago. The future looked very bleak. It was doubtful that the world would escape nuclear destruction.

At best we could see the possibility of a single world wide dictatorship conquering all nations. we were the "Drop Out" generation. The Hippy era was the future. "Tune in-Drop out"

Korea was still a sore spot and a potential danger. Ethiopia, The Sudan and Somalia were in deep poverty and starvation was a daily occurance. The Joke of the day was: "How many Ethiopians can fit in a phone booth?" answer "All of them"

The mandatory draft was in place. All American Males faced Mandatory 2 to 4 years military service.

Commercial Jet passenger airlines were still a dream. Air travel was still hazardous.

the future was not very bright. Many doomsday speakers were speking of us being in the last days. Life as we knew it was doomed to possibly 20 more years. When people spoke of the "Big Bang" theory they were talking of the very real possibility either Russia or the USA would make a first strike. the life expectancy of the planet was 15 minutes after the launch of the first nuke.

But, somehow in spite of wars and disasters life survived. Now, it is your turn to see what you can do with the next 50 years. Sorry, we didn't leave you much to work with, but perhaps one or 2 leaders will emerge with enough sense to avoid the errors of the past 50 years.

In the 2000's has accured many minor signs of judgement days. 2000's means doomday is getting a lot closer than the times of the Prophet Mohamed (P.B.U.H.).

I tend to agree with Woodrow. Nothing much will happen execpt that science and Technology is progressing. Hopefully, the middle east will also recover from its wars and terrorism will be just a bad souvenir from the past.
We (at least, my children. I doubt I will) will drive cars powered by hydrogen and everybody will have its own 'mini solar powerplant' on the roof of his house to produce clean electricity.

I have a positive vision for the future

Only Allah SWT knows what the future holds, scientists can predict as much as they like. InshAllah the prophecies will be fullfilled and this world will come to its end, as it will no longer be able to bare the burden of mans, astronomical level of sins that are in abundance today. Whats the point of living in a world where I have to share it with kaafirs and messed up muslims who disobey Allah SWT. The longer this world last the more inhabitants of hells will be living in it.
In 50 years time InshAllah I want to see the end of kufr and domination of Islam, not flying cars, robots, or a luxurios life.

Allah SWT knows best

Right, here's my 0.02€...

In 2057, China will almost certainly be a world superpower by feigning communism but actually being the most capitalistic nation on earth. The communist ideology they espouse is simply to promote a worker-ant-like mentality amongst their 1.3 billion people. The vase majority of the world's goods will be generated in their sweatshops. Indeed, the Chinese have some of the strictest labour laws about but when the Western dollar is at stake they are more than happy to turn a blind eye to such abuses, which helps to deflect a majority of criticism.

North Korea will either go apes**t and make a last-ditch attempt to invade the South - with some chance of success, I might add - or when Kim Jong-Il carks it the North will be annexed by China (who are still ostensibly fellow socialists.)

The Middle East is a precarious situation. Once the US pulls out of Iraq it's highly probable that it falls into civil war. In any case, by 2057 there will still be chaos and fundamentalism rife in the Middle East, just that in the eyes of the US it'll be different countries considered the "good guys" (i.e. on their side, like Saddam was in the 1980s in the war on ayatollah-based extremism.)

The EU will be a lot more congealed, possibly even a federal superstate. And if it did unite that closely, it would become a superpower overnight - at the moment France is the world's sixth largest economy, Britain the world's fourth, and Germany third, and Spain and Italy are pretty big as well. Combined with the impressive growth in Poland and Romania... you get the idea. Oh, and as Britain and France are both nuclear powers...

Wealth will become exceptionally polarised, even more so than today, with the EU, America, Japan, and the ruling classes in China at the one extreme, and everywhere else beneath them.

By 2057 humanity will probably be forced to seriously consider orbital cities and maybe even lunar colonies as a solution to crushing overpopulation. Earth will hold over 10 billion of them, the majority in developing countries in Africa and South Asia. Naturally, this will lead to widespread famines and poverty in such areas as we can barely provide enough food for 6 billion at the moment.

Still, as Michael Moorcock said back in the 1980s, "It is the business of the future to be dangerous."

Oh 'eck. I've not been to a chippy in years. Best get a move on!

I beg they have robot actors cause humans would be too expensive lol
Mcdonalds..out of business...muhahahahahaha....that would make my day...but sniffs* I wont be there to see it....feeling all emotional now

might not be a choice in some societies later on.won't last long though.

Now that's a trippy thought. "Womanise and become an alcoholic or we'll slay your entire family."

Somehow I can't see that happening myself, state-enforced promiscuity.

Chapter: 33, Verse: 63

Men ask you of the Hour. Say the knowledge of it is with Allah only.
What can convey to you that may be the Hour is near.

Chapter: 29, Verse: 53

They bid you to hasten on the doom.
And if a term had not been appointed,
The doom would have definitely come on them.
And it will come upon them suddenly
When they perceive not.

So we don't for sure know what would to happens in this world by the future!
