Accepting money and gifts from someone who's income involves Riba

Salaams,

Is it permissible to accept gifts or money from someone who's job involves Riba? There job is legal but some of their income is via Riba.

An extension of this would be, can a man provide for his family using money, of which some of it is Riba?
 
As that article that you linked to said, "That which is forbidden because of the way in which it is earned is haraam only for the one who earns it, and not for the one who takes it from him in a permissible manner." Therefore, I think it would be okay.
However, from the same principle, I don't think it would be okay for a Muslim man to provide for his family in that way. It seems to be permissible only if you are not the person who earned directly from Riba.
 
To add to my post above: I think it is like if someone had to lie to earn something. Yes, it is wrong and sinful for that person to do that, but it wouldn't carry over to you if you accepted their earnings as a gift.

This is just how I see it though.

Mmm... from my understanding, the person earning money partly from riba would be sinful, but the dependent family members would not be sinful. We do not bear the sins of our parents, nor they, ours.

Still, if the dependent family member could raise his or her concerns in a gentle and polite way (twinkle. Not in the middle of an argument...)... this would be a good act, it seems to me.

(smile) But only Allah truly Knows. This is just my own understanding.
