Addiction is Muslim community

I've been viewing threads regarding addiction and I just wanna say that most of our Muslims brothers and sisters even scholars doesn't understand a thing about addiction

I've seen thread replies when a person says I'm addicted or I can't stop watching reply "ask dua and hang on"

I'm not saying that we shouldn't ask dua but we should at the same time advising an addict needs some level of understanding about the addiction

Most of the time when people say I can't stop or I'm addicted understand that they have tried to stop this for years and they failed on their own

And muslim addiction recovery specialist use a treatment called IQRA - I quit recovereing alone

This doesn't mean u stop recovering rather its about getting help on your recovery

If you can't stop a behaviour by yourself for a long period of time , I mean u tried and failed for years then that behavior is most likely be an addiction

Porn,alcohol,drugs most of the these addiction are symptoms, people trying to find relief by using these but will end up digging holes inside holes

Addiction isn't about substance - you aren't addicted to the substance, you are addicted to the alteration of mood that the substance brings.

So people who are addicted they are not addicted to cuz they love it, its cuz they are trying to hide their pain, stress issues by using them

Please study about addiction to give proper advice to addicts

You saying try your best and use your will power and white knuckle your the addiction will lead the addict to loose hope in recovery
