I am a revert, and I reverted to Islam just about 3 years ago. My family, the whole family are christians. (Except my twin sister who is an Hindu). My mother did not accept either of our spiritual choices, and even went as far to say she hates hijab, always would make terrorist jokes about me when I put on hijab or if she saw another Muslim sister. When a Hindu holiday came around, she told my sister she hopes the decoration that my sister wanted to put around the house wasn't "ugly" and ruining her Christmas decor.

Anyway, she finally prayed with me, she did Salah with me after she had a huge clash with some woman in the store. I'm not going to write what happened, but my mother has suffered a stroke before and gets upset over the littlest of things. My sister and I told her the argument was not worth it, and she needed to do calm down and learn not to engage in every argument. She asked how we became so calm because she noticed we have changed dramatically. I told her I found Allah, and I can honestly say I am spiritually happy and calm. She tried salah and the next morning told me she has no idea what happened but she feels so calm. I have even seen a change in her, she won't even engage in arguments or get upset lately.

Sorry this is so long. But I have been praying that Allah has her accept Islam, and at least tolerate it and I think this is the first step!

May Allah swt give hidaya to your mother and other members of the family. Ameen
