I have been earnestly reading the Quran for over a year now and had come to the conclusion that Islam is the path to God.
However, a friend of mine at work showed me in the Quran where Muhammed married his neice at the age of 6 and then consumated the marriage when she was 9. I know that in the olden days it was very common to marry young because life expectancy was so short.
But it seems to me that no sex should be allowed with a child before she has reached sexual maturity. I am sure that even back in the days of Mohammed that girls did have menses until the age of 12.
So now I am having doubts about whether Mohammed is truly the prophet of Allah. Can anyone give me some guidance on this matter?
