They were and probably still are a loose association of individuals who work in government positions but have a special agenda — to destroy Islam.
It is not a governmental group that I am aware of, they simply use their positions in the US government to advance their cause..."
And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners. (Al Anfal 30)
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. (At Tawbah 32)
