wa alaikumussalaam.

اِسْتَطَاعَ means 'he was able to, was capable of'. Allah says in Quran:

وَلِلَّـهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ And Allah's due upon man is
حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ pilgrimage to the House ----
مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ whoever is able to make to it
سَبِيلًا a way;
(Trans: Mohar Ali)

We say أسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَتَحَدَّثَ بِالفِرَنْسِيَّةِ 'I can speak French.' (literally: I am able to speak French)

The conjugation of the verb is as follows...

Please quote some sentence which you have gone through. I didn't get your question.

Firstly i m thankful to you for the kind answer :)
secondly i am going to give example of my second question:
as in English language, there are many verbs that can not b used without suitable prepositions, hakizah, in arabic there are also many verbs that i have read they have a proper preposition with it, for example:
search for : بحث عن
said to: قال له، why not: قاله
hopefully u will be able to understand my point now.

It will be helpful if someone else share something different inshaAllah.
I know the same procedure what you know. The dictionaries mention the verbs along with the prepositions they come with. Dictionary says قال comes with various prepositions:

قال له
قال فيه
قال بكذا
قال عليه

By the way قالــه is right. But the hu in "qaalahu" and "qaala lahu" are not the same!!
qaalahu- hu is object, i.e. what the person actually said.

qaala lahu- hu is to whom it was said! (and not what was said)

We have an example in Quran (39:50) :

قَدْ قَالَهَا There indeed said that
الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ those before them;
فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم but it availed them not
مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ what they used to acquire.
(Trans. Dr Mohar Ali)

بحث can come with 2 prepositions:
بحث في الأرض
بحث عنه

Dictionary!!
