Please excuse my ignorance but is this month considered more sacred than the rest in traditional Islam? And if so why?Did you know that 1 Ashra of Ramadan is nearly up?
salaam! Please excuse my ignorance but is this month considered more sacred than the rest in traditional Islam? And if so why?
Thank you sincerely with humility.
Please feel free to answer in question form. I should be able to get it anyway.
Peace
Nicely done. Quite poetic. And if you'll please excuse my ignorance once again; what night is this one you speak of, and why is it of power? Is it significant because it is the proper night for submission to the Will of GOD?salaam!
I'll have a go!
can any other months be holier than the month in which the Quran was reveald and the night of power is within???

I am sorry. I'm not trying to derail, but am earnestly curious.

Thank you for the clarification. Based on things that have come to light recently, it seems this month may have some special significance. I see that the night of majesty is generally a night within the last ten days of the month. Is there a reference to a specific day in the Qur'an, or other texts that I am not aware of?thanks pops!
it is the night in which the first verse of Quran was revealed. it is called the night of power as Allah has blessed it so much that if a person engages in worishp in this night, it is rewarded more than if he engaged in worship for a thousand nights! ... any night is really the proper night to worship, but some nights such as this have more significance, does it not???![]()
the Quran just mentions that this is the night Quran was revealed [i.e the first verse] and that it is called night of power and it is better than a thousand nights, and this night being one of the odd days in last ten nights of Ramadan is only mentioned in hadith. one hadith however says it is on the 27th of Ramadan so most muslims consider it to be that night, do they not??Thank you for the clarification.
