let me make one thing clear, ahmadiyya are not muslims.the ahmadi sect emerged in 19th century in the sub continent under the leadership of mirza ghulam ahmad qadiani, who claimed himself to be a prophet.since according to islamic beliefs, the holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the last messenger of God,and for one to be a muslim, one has to believe in Allah,(God),and accept Muhammad (PBUH) as his final messenger.this is the definition of being a muslim.in islam, anyone who claims to be a prophet, after Muhammad (PBUH) is termed as kazzab(great lier).since ahmadi accept mirza ghulam ahmed as the final prophet, they are kafir(non belilevers in islam),though they claim themselves to be muslims.in fact they have been declared non muslim by many islamic countries, including pakistan and saudi arabia.they cant even enter the muslim holy mosques (kaba and masjid-e-nabwi)in saudi arabia....so in a nut shell, ahmadiyya have nothing to do with islam really.their ways of worship may look similar to muslims, but they are kafir by definition.so muslims dont really bother to draw similarities between ahmadiyya and themselves.
whereas sunni is a large sect of muslims, from which a number of schools and subsects arise.basically, they have common faith more or less, but they might differ in secondary issues.
jammat means a group or gathering literally, people organize a group and then try to spread the word of islam by holding meetings, seminars, inviting people etc.yes friday is a muslim holy day, this day has a special significance in islam.muslims pray jumuah a special prayer on friday.this is an oppurtunity for muslims to get together.
jalsa salana is an urdu word,it means annual seminar.what people do there basically is invite people to islam and give sermons to deepen the faith of muslims.what they do their in detail depends on what sect you are talking about.,muslims normally call their priests imam, which means leader in arabic.almost all the sects use the same word.well,in indo pak, maulvi saab is a term used for someone who takes care of a mosque, leads prayers etc.by khalifa i suppose you mean khalifa in ahmadiyya, well they are people whom ahmadi believe to be appointed by "God" for "guidance of people" after their last false "prophet''.their dont exist khalifa in muslims anymore."hazoor" is a persian word, used in indopak to show some one respect.specifically,i think it might relate to ahmadi people, though i am not sure.by iman, you mean imam i think, who as i desdcribed is a religious leader....
Dear sister,i admire your curiosity about islam, but i strongly warn you against ahmadiyyah, they are misleading innocent people to their false religion under the guise of islam.THEY ARE NON MUSLIMS for all reasons.please beware not to be trapped by them.from what i can see of your post, may be you are being influenced by ahmadiyyah,,,you must be careful not to be mistaken that they are muslims.
if someone wants to convert to islam, one should recite quran, the final word of Allah, and seek guidance from it.it is not necessary to associate yourself to a particular sect,if you are sincere and curious about islam, you read quran and Allah will guide you to the right path.if you have any questions, feel free to ask.you are most welcome here.
take care
