Anyone in Al-Azhar University, Kaherah?

I am planning to go to Al-Azhar University in Kaharah, Egypt for study Arabic. Is there anyone who lives there or somewhere near there who can give an update on the latest situation? The Malaysian government is still sending students to Al-Azhar, as lately as one month ago, so the situation can't be all that bad.
