has anyone seen anyone who has been possessed by a jinn or under the influence of sihr/magic. If so how were they behaving or what were there symptoms.

I have. The people are usually very violent and always mumbling to themselves I have not witneeseed this but i have heard that people who are possed usually spend a lot of time in the bathroom.

I have. It was the most scariest yet one of the most amazing moments I have come across in life. Scary because I got scared .. lol. Amazing because the jinn was taken out infrontof me. It showed subhanallah the powers of Allahs words.
I can never forget that day.
Also, it has brought me closer to Islam. :)

^ Yep thats true. :'( They tear books, smash glass, very destructive with items you like a lot..

Some have similar behavior to people with epilepsy.. But it def wasn't epilepsy because the person I knew who was possessed was given medication epilepsy patients are given, and it didn't work at all, just ruined her more.

Quran is the best cure. :)

wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

The one I witnessed was fine alhamdulillah .. didn't do anything violent until it was being taken out. As soon as it heard Allahs words it would go violent; attack the person taking out the jinn. It didn't smash anything just attacked the person.

Oh, um, the person I witnessed is family. So I was living in their house for a few months. She's normal when outsiders visit. She's actually really sweet and you'll never know somethings wrong with her. But something triggers for her and she goes wild.

Hearing Allah's name soothes her down alhamdulillah...

no but my nana loves telling me stories because he knows they get me freaked :-[

Asalamu Alaikum

i saw it on tv once, never experienced it myself, erm..the ppl that were possessed wud laugh as the quran was being recited, some cry, some scream..it was wierd, and as soon as the jinn leaves the body, the person doesnt know what happend to them..but ya they get violent and stuff..but Allah's words are strong and pure; if u read surat al baqara it diminishes all the jinn in your home for 3 days subhanallah

Never Alhamdulillah. :) But I've read about when I was a little too young to be reading them types of books :-[ Oh, you can imagine ......

Fear only Allah ;)

By that logic, I'd be possessed.

It's not a Jinn though I assure you. Just a bit too much pepper in the gosht.

:sl:
ive heard loads about them, people who are possessed to 'out of the ordinary things' like, speak fluently languages never heard before and yea they can get very violent. They also are known to eat twice of what they usually eat. Its pretty scary but allah knows best.

*aww ive scared myself now...* :)

You'd think these Jinn would have something better to do. You know, like hanging out in magic lamps, granting three wishes to the person who frees them, that kinda thing. But no. They have to posess people and scare the living daylights out of us.

102. O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.

Surah Ale-Imran

Basically my point is, just live by this ayat and fear only Allah just as he should be feared and no Jinn nor Insan can harm you. Dont fear the Jinn or Insan, rathar FEAR the CREATOR of the Jinn and Insan. He is more deserving of your fear tahn either of those two, because he is the one who created you and gave you life and then gave you your 5 senses and your family and the greatest gift of Islam. So fear Allah as he should be feared and never fear Jinn or Insan because they are not worth being afraid of, Allah is the only one High enough to be feared.

Very true. I find it much more spiritually rewarding to love Allah rather than follow His commands out of fear, but it is of course important to recognise that only He is worthy of our fear.

To paraphrase Ghostbusters: I ain't 'fraid of no Jinn ;) :D

I was just displaying my incredibly rubbish sense of humour :p The English word 'genie' does derive from the Arabic 'jinn', however. So my joke does kind of work.

If one has a dictionary to hand.

well either way....jinn cant grant wishes, and they arent trapped sooooooooooooo.....
and for us to be scared of them...then we deserve for them to possess us cuz were not sppsd to fear them..but Allah more, i believe they are part of our test in life...they were created to serve Allah and Allah only even if they do have powers..such as flying and stuff...

We can fly too. Except we are not blessed with the abilities of jinns, but instead the ability to call up EasyJet.

I suggest Ibn Taymiyyah's essay on the Jinn. Possesed people may also talk to themselves outloud when they're alone.
