Argument from Design.

I don't see why a flaw is considered a lack of design. If one designs a dress that has a flaw (purpose or not), that doesn't negate the designer.

But let us consider an intentional mistake by a professional designer. Say Gucci. Again, any mistake in his work does not negate that he designed it. Indeed, it may raise eye-brows and questions surrounding his abilities, but he still designed it.

A better argument would be "why did he design such a product with such a flaw" as opposed to "because there is a flaw in design, it wasn't designed (by him)"
 
Cool. So the consensus I see here between the people who have responded is that everything is designed because they believe God designed everything.

Until such a time you offer a lucid scientifically sound alternative that will pretty much be the consensus...

I do agree though that it is one of those discussions that don't go anywhere. philosophy is a less refined branch of religion and most folks aren't into substituting a set of beliefs for lesser beliefs!
