Arrange whole night Quran recitation

I heard that , in Cairo people arrange whole night Quran recitation on various occasions like marriage , birthday etc. Is that true ? Can u give more info ?

Never heard of the whole night Qur'an recitation on events.

There are some awesome Qur'an reciting contests there though .

I believe it is very powerful to bring people together in prayer, we generally have one or two 24 hour prayer events each year.

On the 4 Mar 2016, Pope Francis called for 24 Hours of prayer for the Lord’s Jubilee of Mercy, and churches throughout the world opened for 24 hours; praying together.

I have also been part of 24 / 48 hours of prayer, when churches from many denominations come together and pray for the community. I would love to see 24 hours of interfaith prayers; for peace in our communites and the need to work together for the good of all people.
