Asaalam alaykum brothers and sisters

I don't know much about my religion and I am hoping that joining a forum like this, would help enlighten me about the true facts of islam. So far, the media has helped alienate my religion so im hoping for some guidance and answers to my questions :?

I fear that in doing such inquiries, i may impose offense to some believers so i take this space to apologise in advance!!!
